Pride the Root Cause
July 11, 2009
Today, emotional stress and depression all around us is viewed as common in our daily lives. It may start from as little as dealing with traffic to work stress and relationship strife. However, we often ignore that the root cause of it all is pride.
It is pride that enrages one individual against another on the road; he may think, “does he think he is better than me, I will show him by honking at him” instead of humbling himself. To illustrate, “A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult.”
Also, when dealing with difficulties at work and tough circumstances, it is easy to fall into the pit of pride. For example, maintaining an attitude of humility with your co-workers is much more important than being right all the time. No one wants destruction in their life, the opposite of pride is humility, because “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”
Additionally, relationship strife can start from small misunderstandings resulting in disconnect from each other, which leads to depression. Instead of putting the pride aside and reuniting the couple grows further apart. In spite of this, you must not forget as C.S. Lewis once said, “A man is never so proud as when striking an attitude of Humility.”
Moreover, it is truly amazing how much every couple remembers about love before marriage and forgets soon after. A love quote is something every couple should have in their memory. So, the next time any of those negative thoughts about your loved one surface, you will immediately be reminded.
Reading: “Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy.
Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude;
It is not self-seeking, nor easily angered.
It keeps no record of wrongdoing.
It does not delight in evil,
But rejoices in the truth.
It always protects, trusts, hopes, and preserves.
There is nothing love cannot face;
There is no limit to its faith, hope, and endurance.
In a word, there are three things that last forever:
Faith, hope, and love;
But the greatest of them all is love.”
Overall, life without pride is much more peaceful and giving. You are not constantly thinking about your next move based on pride, instead your mind is settled on humility and love.
God’s Love
Love is an expression of God that shows grace and mercy. God’s love transcended through his son, and the love we share is a reflection of our relationship to God and the ones we love.
We have all heard of Eros and Agape type of love. Each one is closely observed throughout our society. God shows grace and mercy, and therefore, we are to share the same to the ones we love. God is merciful because it is totally underserved and graceful because it is freely given. Love is the highest creative force in all relationships. Elizabeth Browning said, “Love, I say, is the energy of life!” Read more »
My Dear
Dear that special someone for me,
I know you are out there and it’s just a matter of time before we find each other. I am looking forward to that day with all my heart. I am preparing myself for each day.
Imagining, what you could be like? What would you look like? Are you tall, dark, and handsome or are you short, thick, cuddly, and still good-looking? No matter what, you are for me and I will love you regardless.
I look forward to grow old with you and celebrate good times for the rest of my life. As we learn things about each other everyday, we will share a friendship too. I look forward to that day, until then, I will be waiting for you. With open arms and heart full of love, only for you.
