Pride the Root Cause
July 11, 2009
Today, emotional stress and depression all around us is viewed as common in our daily lives. It may start from as little as dealing with traffic to work stress and relationship strife. However, we often ignore that the root cause of it all is pride.
It is pride that enrages one individual against another on the road; he may think, “does he think he is better than me, I will show him by honking at him” instead of humbling himself. To illustrate, “A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult.”
Also, when dealing with difficulties at work and tough circumstances, it is easy to fall into the pit of pride. For example, maintaining an attitude of humility with your co-workers is much more important than being right all the time. No one wants destruction in their life, the opposite of pride is humility, because “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”
Additionally, relationship strife can start from small misunderstandings resulting in disconnect from each other, which leads to depression. Instead of putting the pride aside and reuniting the couple grows further apart. In spite of this, you must not forget as C.S. Lewis once said, “A man is never so proud as when striking an attitude of Humility.”
Moreover, it is truly amazing how much every couple remembers about love before marriage and forgets soon after. A love quote is something every couple should have in their memory. So, the next time any of those negative thoughts about your loved one surface, you will immediately be reminded.
Reading: “Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy.
Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude;
It is not self-seeking, nor easily angered.
It keeps no record of wrongdoing.
It does not delight in evil,
But rejoices in the truth.
It always protects, trusts, hopes, and preserves.
There is nothing love cannot face;
There is no limit to its faith, hope, and endurance.
In a word, there are three things that last forever:
Faith, hope, and love;
But the greatest of them all is love.”
Overall, life without pride is much more peaceful and giving. You are not constantly thinking about your next move based on pride, instead your mind is settled on humility and love.
My Writing Strengths And Weaknesses
January 22, 1999
Several thoughts come to mind when I describe my strengths and weaknesses as a writer:
First of all, whenever I write I know when the writing is great or just ordinary. It requires more effort when I try to write great. It takes a great deal of time because my mind is not focused.
On the other hand, I just write because I want to write the words in my thoughts. However, you can write whatever is on your mind and the things you want to express deeply. Read more »
When I Think About You, Lord
November 14, 2005
When out of nowhere you send so much happiness in my way, it brings tears of joy.
When I am so happy and have no words to express; I only want to praise you.
When you made rainbows in the entire place just to remind me of your promises. August 2005
When you get every person to call me on the same matter what I prayed.
When you give me revelations in Bible and bring the word alive to me.
When you just use anyone to send the message to me.
When you smile and watch the way I act and I am out of control, it must take a lot to get my attention. You still never give up.
When you teach me patience and how to pray with faith.
When you make everything work out just because I went to you first and prayed.
When you remind me of love and how to love everyone; you died on the cross to pay for everyone’s sins.
You are great and I am so glad I am not alone.
