Are you Really Listening?
Is anyone out there really listening? Listening is an active, dynamic engagement between the listener and speaker. There is a difference between listening and simply hearing.
Listening brings about changes in people’s attitudes toward themselves and others. It also contributes to their basic values and personal philosophy. People who pay attention and take their time to listen become more emotionally mature, more open to their experiences in life, less defensive, more democratic, and less authoritarian.
Moreover, listening provides more information than any other activity. It builds deep and positive relationships, which shapes the attitude of the individual into a more optimistic nature. Things I do, when bored
I go on a treasure hunt for things that I can’t find in my own house.
I organize my closet and take extras for donation.
I do my home office filing and clear up the clutter on the desk.
I pull out the old picture albums and revisit old memories.
I call a friend or relative that I haven’t talked to for a long time.
I go to the library and research a topic that may have been on my mind.
I offer babysitting to a family that may need some help.
I volunteer at the hospital, nursing home, women center, etc.

How to Argue with your Boss?
Arguing with your boss is not easy because the thought of getting fired is always lingering at the back of your mind. Yet, there are some steps that can help when it comes down to making your point in handling disagreements.
Holding on to common sense under pressure, use a simple concept to comfortably initiate a conversation. Be sure not to be angry when going to your boss’s office, as the mind may be clouded by your anger.
Clarify the problem and ask questions, for instance, “why would you do it that particular way?” It not only shows your interest in his idea, but it also gives him a chance to explain his side.
Additionally, when you have a problem that you want to take to your boss’s attention, you must be prepared for all the questions your boss may have afterwards. Besides, provide solutions and present them in a way that works positively for both sides. Read more »
