If I said eating is good, many people may disagree with me. However, I am not talking about those foods that are high in sugars and loaded with calories etc. Besides, when we feel low in energy, most of us reach for food. So, I want to share some of the things I do when I am looking for a little boost.
When I go grocery shopping, my rule is to make sure I fill the cart with plenty of nutritional foods for snacks. For example, walnuts are good for protein so taking a handful of it helps my hunger and gives the nutrition my body needs. Moreover, there are many foods that contain natural sugars like dry dates, raisins, bananas, honey etc.
Another habit I have grown to love is to make sure not to give into my temptation to eat junk food. No matter what, I have slowly trained myself not to buy anything that will not help my body to grow in good health. I figure if I don’t have it at home I will be restricted from it naturally.
Furthermore, there is no self-control involved when it comes to eating without thinking. For example, when I feel bored my tendency is to munch on something. So I grab my favorite fruit, blackberries. This way I am eating something that I enjoy plus not over filling myself with something not needed. Other times when it is just “food calling my name” I ask myself “how long will that taste last in my mouth?” The answer is only few seconds, which helps me realize that in the long run it is really not worth it. I am talking about what most women struggle with, chocolate. If I know that I just have to have something, I eat a very small portion of it. In return, I will do some activity that requires energy.
These small precautions are very simple and in short time become good healthy habits. Eat but eat foods that are good for you and your body. In conclusion, eating is good if we think health first.
