My husband’s mother came down to visit us during the Thanksgiving holidays. We decided to go to Austin.
First, we visited the state capitol building which gave us a whole new experience as we observed the beautiful architectural structure, the old saved machines, the phone system, etc. We took a lot of pictures and enjoyed ourselves.
The next morning was Thanksgiving Day. As we came out of the hotel room, we discovered with shock that the car window had been broken. My husband ran toward the car to see and found out that everything was stolen.
We had left all of our electric gadgets, (GPS, iPod, laptop, digital camera, swimming gear, etc.) thinking that we had an alarm on the car and that surely nothing would happen in one night.
We looked at each other and still had a lot to be thankful for. Most importantly we were safe and without any harm. As we stood, we held each other tightly and realized that it could have been a lot worse.
Tragedy can happen in the middle of a good time. The question is what will become most important at that time?
