Elderly people have a great wealth of knowledge from their past experiences which can offer great ideas to a person of a young age. Usually, the elderly are not treated with much respect or are left in nursing homes and forgotten by the families.
What if society looks at them from a different perspective and actually gives them the respect they deserve. Wouldn’t it be good if they did slow us down by playing a board game, telling stories about their past, their experiences during different times of their lives.
By taking our time, aren’t we are all heading that same direction sooner or later? Would you want to be left alone in a world where you are isolated?

This was a good reading. My mom is in her sixties and running her own childcare and I visit her often. You are right on target because my mom loves playing checkers and I just don’t have the time to slow down.
My mom lives with me and yes sometimes it is tough because she is on a different level. There are times where I loose my patience. But I think it is part of life because I know one day she won’t be with me, and I will miss her. Good reading, thanks much. Violet
You are correct. So many people rush through their lives with little time for others, much less for the elderly. Often I see the teenagers running around in the malls or stores. Couldn’t they spend a little time with their grandparents, maybe clean their gardens or yards for them or some housework? While this might seem boring to kids now, years from now it will be precious memories, and, eventually, they might instill into their kids and grandkids the help they these teenagers will eventually need in 50 or 60 or more years from now. Time flies by!
